Marketing Week Trends Show

Described by various delegates as “inspiring, stimulating, provocative, passionate, informative, compelling, professional and impressive” the second annual Marketing Week Trends Show held at the Barbican on May 13th and 14th 2009 was one of the most thought provoking events we’ve held this year. With a worldwide speaker panel, input from the editors of Marketing Week (Mark Choueke) and New Media Age (Mike Nutley) and a diverse audience from all industry sectors, few will have left this annual event without feeling inspired or reinvigorated by the trends and strategies discussed over the two days.

Highlights of the conference were:  the presentation by Lord Tim Bell with his very optimistic view of the future of capitalist society and the “pursuit of self interest”, shame he could only speak for 40 minutes as most of the audience would happily have listened to him for hours, the highly energetic presentation by Magnus Lindkvist the insightful professional Swedish Trendspotter and the debate with Angel Gambino and Hussain Chowdhury of Habbo on the future of social media. The presentations by Marian Salzman and Rachel Lawes were very well received and it was great to get a US perspective on consumer trends from Ms. Salzman.

This event has quickly become a staple in Marketing Week’s conference calendar and has gone from strength to strength each year. If you have any ideas on what you’d like to see at Trends Show 2010 please email us on: enquiries@marketingweektrendshow.com
