Managing Outside Counsel
We would like to extend a warm thankyou to all of the speakers at our recent Managing Outside Counsel conference. The feedback over the two days was very positive – delegates enjoyed the candid views of the likes of Robert Webb of BA and Luisa Edwards of Google, and heard from Andrew Garard of ITV on how they are dispensing with the billable hour. Attendees also heard from Julia Chain of H4 Partners about strategic thinking in a downturn – a theme she expanded on in the post conference masterclass on aligning legal spend with boardroom strategy.
In addition to this, the final day included an extended panel session, with contributions from Luisa, Tim Bratton of the FT, James Ormrod of HP and Richard Wiseman from Shell. Discussions ranged from the strategic relationship between in-house and external counsel, to cost cutting – including a fascinating mini-debate over “outrageous” photocopying bills.
For those who missed the conference, you can catch up on both day’s proceedings and more, through our new online presentation service. Call +44 (0)20 7970 4770 for more details.
